      • Visit the Food Week information booth on the North Lawn @ Marston to learn about planned activities.  Join the Food Science & Human Nutrition Department and Student Organization in a week long event of food-related demonstrations, research, community service, and food.

      • Reitz Union Breezeway | 10:00AM - 2PM
      • Join us at the Reitz Union Breezeway for a FREE refreshing drink developed in the Food Science & Human Nutrition Department:  Beverage Research Unit. Share your taste preferences in our sensory analysis and review real time data of the people's choice. 

    Picnic on the Farm

      • Field & Fork Farm (Student Council Garden)| 4:30PM
      • Join the FSHN Student Club for a tour of the Field & Fork Farm led by Farm Manager Dina Liebowitz.  During the tour Dina will light harvest ready produce to include bok choi, tokay bekana, radishes, tomatos and basil.  The tour will be followed by a short cooking demonstration and a picnic for participants.

    Honey Bee Lab (FREE SHUTTLE FROM FSHN)

      • UF Honey Bee Research Laboratory | 10:00AM-12:00PM
      • Have you ever wanted a peak into the home of the world’s mightiest pollinating force? If so, gather your courage and your friends and come on over to the UF Honey Bee Research Laboratory (Bldg #964). Here, you’ll be able to dress in a bee suit and work a honey bee colony with a university beekeeper or you can simply watch others safely behind a glass wall. No matter how you choose to experience the wonder of honey bees, you’ll leave with an amazing appreciation for and fascination towards these amazing creatures.
      • FSHN will provide a van shuttle to and from the Honey Bee Lab for this event.  The first shuttle leaves from the FSHN Building at 9:45 and every 15 minutes thereafter.  Please meet at the back door on the service drive and look for the Beesign.

      • Visit the Food Science Sensory Panel and try FREE food samples while learning the importance of sensory analysis in the food production and distribution process. 

    Master Chef Cooking Competition (REGISTRATION DEADLINE EXTENDED: 10/14 @12:00PM)

      • Food Science & Human Nutrition (FSHN Bldg #475) | 2PM - 5PM (Cooking 3PM - 4PM)
      • Have you ever wanted to channel your inner Food Network Chef?  Grab a partner and submit your entry for a chance at Team Master Chef Glory…with a twist. Teams will showcase their culinary brilliance with items from the Field & Fork Pantry in this one hour cooking competition. Spectators are welcome at the FSHN Pilot Plant (FSN Bldg #475 on the campus map)

      • Join the Ice Cream Dream Team for free samples and fun as FSHN Students showcase Food Science techniques in food manufacturing.  If you have an extra sweet tooth you will have the opportunity to top your treat with a drizzle of fresh made honey courtesy of the Honey Bee Club.
