The goal of the Food Science and Human Nutrition Department’s Cooperative Extension Nutrition program is to support wellness-promoting food and nutrition strategies for the reduction of chronic disease risk and improve the nutritional well-being of older adults through the dissemination of current, evidence-based information. This is accomplished by providing educational opportunities such as webinars, workshops, and online courses as well as consultation to educators, health professionals, and industry professionals. The FSHN Nutrition Extension program compliments nutrition research being conducted by several nutritional sciences faculty members in the FSHN department.
