Research Interests

A focus area has been in examining the metabolic response and adaptation of the body to enteral and total parenteral (IV) nutrition. Especially of interest are the gastrointestinal tract, liver, and pancreas.

Another area is protein and amino acid metabolism as affected by route of feeding and interactions with energy components of the diet.
