Volunteer and Work Experience

It is highly recommended that all students planning to pursue a career in dietetics get dietetics related work or volunteer experience. Most internships require additional experience beyond coursework. Hospitals, wellness programs, college foodservice, camp foodservice, long term care foodservice, and community nutrition programs are examples. Students should explore a variety of work settings. The Dietetics listserv (contact Dr. McMahon, DPD Program Director to be added) announces job listings and volunteer opportunities periodically.
