Dietetics Undergraduate Program
Dietetics is a challenging profession that applies the science of food and nutrition to the health and well-being of individuals and groups. The Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD) at the University of Florida is a program the meets the Standards of Education set forth by the Commission on the Accreditation for Dietetics Education (CADE). The mission of the program is to educate students using a comprehensive science based food and nutrition curriculum and effective instructional strategies to produce graduates who can meet the high standards expected of entry level professionals. The curriculum is accredited by CADE.
Students completing the program earn a Bachelor of Science degree in FSHN with an emphasis in Dietetics. Students are eligible to compete for placement in a CADE accredited dietetic internship once they complete their undergraduate degree. Following the completion of an internship, students will take a national registration examination to earn the Registered Dietitian (RD) credential.

Graduation from this program requires 120 credits. Dietetics students’ complete courses in the following fields:
