Tomato GAPs and BMPs
In July 2008, the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services Division of Fruits and Vegetables adopted rule 5G-6, which established inspection procedures, good agricultural practices (GAPs) and best management practices (BMPs) to enhance the safety of fresh tomatoes grown, packed or repacked in Florida. A set of guidelines are published in the Tomato Best Practices Manual, available below.
